Hi there! please can anyone tell us if we can get to mount ainos with out a car, we will be staying in Lourthata end of June 08, have been to Kefalonia several times before and done lots of walking longest St Yerasimos monastery and back from Lourthata. we will be most grateful for any help. You definately need a car to get to the top of mt ainos(it is the 2nd tallest mountain in Greece)--it takes a very long time to get to the top with a car--the road is paved some of the way, but after it is just steep gravel. It is definitely worth seeing so I would rent a jeep for the day and go take a look.
